Ukrainian Elections - September 2007
On Sept 30th, Ukraine held parliamentary elections. Ukraine had invited a number of international observation groups (the International Election Observation Mission), one of which was OSCE/ODIHR (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe/Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights). I monitored the election with OSCE as a Short Term Observer. Fulbright Program
The Fulbright Program sends U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year to a variety of countries. The program is highly competitive and applicants must have their research and country proposals approved by experts in the field as well as a seperate evaluation of the applicant. While in country, Scholars lecture and conduct research. My proposal in Georgia was on the reforms in the Georgian Educational System as well as development of educational standards. SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is a student organization which is devoted to teaching the principles of free enterprise, business skills, ethics, and developing the students' own skills in these areas. It is both a class (BUS X498) at IU Kokomo as well a club, run through Student Activities. Our IU Kokomo SIFE team competes at the Saint Louis or Cleveland or Chicago Regional Competition (where we have been named Regional Champion every year since 2001) and then at Nationals (where we have placed several times).
