2008 Commencement
Dear December 2007 Graduates and Class of 2008 Degree Candidates:
Congratulations! You are coming to the culmination of many hours of hard work and
sacrifice … your IU degree will be in hand in a few short weeks! I would like to
take this opportunity to personally invite you to participate in your Commencement
ceremony on May 6.
Please read this pamphlet carefully. It contains information on what you need to
do to make the necessary arrangements to participate in the Commencement ceremony.
On Commencement day, graduates will gather with their classmates to prepare for the
ceremony. Lined up with your academic division, you will have the opportunity to walk
across the stage to receive the recognition you so richly deserve. After the official
ceremonies end, the celebration will continue. Graduates and their families are invited
to the post-Commencement reception held in Alumni Hall.
To be a part of this celebration, you must rent a cap and gown. You
will be receiving a packet of information from Herff Jones, Inc. in the near future. In
addition, you will have the opportunity to order Commencement invitations and university
mugs. Nurses' recognition ceremony invitations may also be purchased from Herff Jones, Inc.
Commencement information may be found in the "Countdown
to Commencement" brochure. If you have any questions about Commencement, please contact
the Office of Alumni Relations at (765) 455-9411 or
alumni@iuk.edu.
Congratulations once again on the completion of your degree. You have worked hard for
this moment, so come celebrate with your fellow classmates, family, faculty, and friends.
I look forward to seeing you there to personally welcome you to the alumni family!
Cordially,
Cathy Hightower, BA'89, MS'00
