IU Kokomo M.B.A. Association
Storyteller session - Rep. Jim Buck, March 22, 2007
The Indiana University at Kokomo Masters of Business Administration Association (MBAA) was honored to present Jim Buck, House District 38 Representative (Boone, Clinton, Hamilton, and Howard Counties) as our Story teller, March 22, 2007.
He told us the story of how he started as a Tool and Die Mold Maker for Delco and was compelled to further his education. With a great emphasis on education and the power it holds, Representative Buck went on to mention three things that vex our society today; litigation, taxation and regulation . Using a quote from Thomas Jefferson, the State Representative explained about disciplined government and economic efficiency. He gave us a riveting explanation about how our American culture does not exist without government, just as he gives to fourth graders, and it was not wasted on us.
Mr. Buck was a fascinating speaker as he wove a tapestry of his life; family, education and government. He mentioned a need for state government to consider the economy in a global reference, how Indiana is working to attract and retain the best and the brightest as well as some small business economic initiatives.
