Applying for Financial Aid
We encourage you to apply for financial aid and scholarships. You won’t know if you’re eligible if you don’t apply. Our financial aid counselors are available to help you.
Applying for financial aid is a three-step process:
- Apply for admission to IU Kokomo.
You must be admitted for us to begin the financial aid process. For
entering students, admission by November 1 or no later than March 1
for the following Fall semester will result in your consideration
for IU Kokomo scholarships. For continuing student scholarship
consideration, you must be
registered fall classes by April 1.
- Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
each year. New FAFSA forms
for the next aid year are available on January 1.
FAFSA on the web allows you to
complete and submit your financial aid application electronically.
The federal school code for IU Kokomo is 001814. The 2008/09
FAFSA Priority Application Receipt Date is March
10, 2008. Your 2008/09 FAFSA must be received by
the federal processor after January 1, 2008 and on or
before March 10, 2008, to receive maximum consideration for
financial aid for the 2008/09 aid year.
- If you provide an email address on your FAFSA, the federal
processor will send you an email notification with a link to your
Student Aid Report (SAR). If you did not provide an email address,
you will receive this notification by mail in 7 to 10 days. You should review your
SAR for any necessary corrections or updates. If you do not hear
from the federal processor within two weeks of submission, go to
www.fafsa.ed.gov and select:
"Check Status of a submitted FAFSA or Print Signature Page."
