Five receive Trustees’ Teaching Awards

May 4, 2006

KOKOMO, Ind.—Five Indiana University Kokomo faculty members have received 2006 Trustees’ Teaching Awards (TTA). They are Assistant Professor of English Terri Bourus, Ph.D.; Assistant Professor of e-Business Dmitriy Chulkov, Ph.D.; Lecturer in English Karla Farmer Stouse; Assistant Professor of Science Education Julie Saam, Ed.D.; and Professor of Education Margo Sorgman, Ed.D.

A committee of faculty peers designated the awards, based on the candidates’ demonstrated scholarship in teaching and learning research.

“We are very proud of and commend all the candidates for who were nominated by their respective academic units for this honor,” said Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Stuart Green. “We wish to recognize the TTA Committee—Donna McLean, Kathy Parkison, Carl Widland, Todd Bradley, and co-chairs Masato Ogawa and Linda Wallace—for the difficult work they have done in evaluating so many deserving faculty members.”

Indiana University presents $2,500 each to the Trustees’ Teaching Awards winners. They will be formally recognized during the campus’ fall convocation.
