About New Student Orientation
The Parent Connection is an information session about academic and support services for students. Campus policies and procedures, as well as the role parents play in supporting students academically, will be discussed. A campus tour will be available for those who are interested. Parents will meet the chancellor, faculty and students of the IU Kokomo family. The offices of financial aid, bursar, and computer services will make presentations. Students will conduct a presentation as well. Orientation is a welcoming experience and an avenue to assist students in understanding the academic community.
New Student Orientation is to assist in welcoming new students to the IU Kokomo campus. Students will be attending group presentations which include a walking tour of campus, to help learn more about the campus policies and procedures. Students will also attend a mandatory assessment session. Before leaving for the day, all students will have their student IDs, be registered for classes, and have excellent information about the campus. The orientation is designed to provide new students with information and activities to enhance each student’s ability to be successful at IU Kokomo. Orientation begins at 9 a.m. and last through early afternoon.
