Facilities

The Science, Mathematics, and Informatics Department is housed in Virgil and Elizabeth Hunt Hall, dedicated on September 28, 2001. The building contains 78,954 square feet of modern laboratory and classroom facilities.

The facility contains teaching laboratories for biology/botany, molecular biology, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology; a walk-in cold room; plant growth room; prep facilities; a microscopy lab containing bright field, phase contrast and fluorescence microscopes, digital imaging systems, and a Cambridge Scanning Electron Microscope; five biology research labs and a student project lab (biology). In addition, four teaching laboratories for inorganic chemistry, analytical/physical chemistry, and organic chemistry, as well as an advanced instrumentation laboratory are housed in the building. Three computer classrooms are also contained within the building, as well as a computer networking laboratory.
