The Annual Student Symposium at IU Kokomo

The Annual Student Symposium at IU Kokomo is for both graduate and undergraduate student research. Research is defined as scholarship, creative activities, multimedia works, service projects, capstone projects, or any student work faculty would like to sponsor for the Symposium. Students can present their works through paper readings, discussions, viewings with questions and answers, presentations and/or poster sessions.

Faculty nominates students to participate, based on the quality of their research. Last year thirty-six students presented papers, while 50 showcased their research with posters displayed in Alumni Hall. Chancellor Michael Harris said the symposium is an opportunity for the campus and community to see the excellent teaching, learning and research taking place at IU Kokomo.

"We have outstanding faculty who work hard to give students real-world research opportunities," he said. "We are focused on academic excellence and student success at IU Kokomo. This symposium allows our students to demonstrate and share their success."

Participants may give an oral or poster presentation. Abstract preparation directions are on the conference website. All abstracts will be approved by the campus liaisons after submission online and the students will be notified by email of their acceptance to the conference.
