Interim Chancellor

Susan Sciame-Giesecke
Interim Chancellor
Hello and Welcome!
As the Interim Chancellor, I believe that my role is to facilitate and promote the work of faculty, staff and students. Your success is important to me! I believe that we provide a supportive, engaging, and challenging environment designed to help you achieve your academic and career goals.
Students, I encourage you to partner with our faculty and staff during your time on campus. Join our student organizations, explore our international travel opportunities, participate in our internships experiences, and seek out research opportunities with our faculty. We have an excellent faculty who are committed to student success. Let me know how we can better serve your needs.
To my faculty colleagues, I applaud your passion for teaching and research, and I encourage you to partner with me as you work to achieve your personal goals and the campus goals. Our challenges are great as we prepare our students to live and work in a rapidly changing global environment. However, our access to world class Indiana University resources equips us to meet these challenges.
My staff is poised and ready to help. Dr. Kathy Parkison, Interim Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, can answer questions on all policies and procedures, scheduling, and other administrative issues; Gerry Stroman, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Success and Advising, can answer questions related to orientation, advising and placement testing; Kathy Ross, Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, can help with teaching related questions; and Candy Thompson, is responsible for our General Studies degree and our ACCEL program.
I encourage you to visit our office, email me at sgieseck@iuk.edu, or call the office at 765-455-9227 if you have questions, concerns or needs. I look forward to working with you in the future.
Dr. Susan Sciame-Giesecke
