Office Phone: (765)-455-9550
My name is April Mouser. I teach pharmacology within the school of nursing. I am also the Simulation Center Director. This role includes preparing the simulation center for each simulation that nursing students encounter, as well as working with faculty in creating a learning environment meant to enhance didactic and clinical education. Simulation is a key component to preparing our nursing students for the clinical setting in both skills and critical thinking.
Additionally, I am a proud BSN graduate of Indiana University Kokomo. I received my MSN from Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis in 2009. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Southern Indiana with an anticipated graduation date of May 2013. My clinical interests include pulmonary patients, and my research pursuits include transtracheal oxygen therapy.
I love teaching nursing students. My role in education is one of facilitator. My goal is to empower my students to learn and apply the knowledge. I live for the moment when I work with a student who is struggling, and he or she finally understands the topic. Teaching is my passion and my pride.
