I have had the pleasure of being an administrator for Indiana University Kokomo since 1985. I served as the Director of University Division for 22 years; in 2009 I was appointed Assistant Vice chancellor for Academic Affairs for a newly created office of Student Success and Advising. This encompasses advising, the testing center, new student orientation, convocation, student success center and other services that promote student success on the campus. In 1994, I was appointed the campus Affirmative Action Officer and have served the campus in that capacity to the present time. I serve on the Chancellor’s Cabinet, Dean’s Council, Administrative Council and the Campus Diversity Committee. I also serve on many other committees as required in the two positions I hold.
Education has always been a passion of mine. I worked as an elementary school teacher as my first professional position. After teaching for two years, I worked at Fayetteville State University and directed their counseling center in the Division of General Studies.
I have volunteered for many service groups in the Kokomo community and like to provide service for the community for which I reside .I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a charter member of the Kokomo chapter of Omicron Phi Omega, a Greek service sorority. I have served in this sorority for over 40 years. I have served in many roles and on many boards in the Kokomo area. It gives me a great pleasure to serve the students in our region and be on the move with IU Kokomo’s faculty and staff.
