Dr. Kim earned Ph.D. degree in Management (with MIS concentration) from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. She holds both masters and bachelors degrees in chemical engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Her teaching areas are financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, and information systems. Her research focuses on financial statement frauds, accounting information systems, financial reporting issues for technology firms, user behavior in online marketplaces, and revenue management of IT service firms. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Decision Support Systems, e-Service Journal, Review of Business Research, and Journal of Academy of Business and Economics.
Prior to joining the Purdue PhD program, she worked as a Software Engineer at Samsung SDS systems and a visiting scholar at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin) , Germany. After completing her Ph.D. program, she taught and published her research in the management information systems field for five years. In 2009, she began a retraining program to accounting and has focused her research and teaching in the accounting field since then. She also passed the CPA exam.
