CV | TEACHING
I have been a nurse for over thirty years. I have been teaching at IUK since 2010 and believe IUKSON is the best place to work and go to school. My work experience includes home health care,, medical surgican nursing, long term care, ambulatory care and critical care. I have over ten years of experience as an infection control practitioner. I finally found my passion in nursing education. I teach Professional Growth and Development, Research Utilization, and I am currently developing two nursing electives, Complementary Therapies and Genetics and Genomics.
I am interested in transcultural nursing and serve as the representative nursing representative for the campus Diversity Committee. Nursing as a profession offers diversity in career choices. One fun aspect of my job is helping students to explore the many different opportunities for nurses.
As an educator I can impact the culture of the of the profession one student at a time. I believe education is a partnership between student and teacher that leads to success for both. It is a life long journey that should be fun and satisfying.
