The curriculum for this minor provides students with a basic understanding of our society’s historical and political development all while helping students develop essential reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills. Students will also get some experience with law directly. Courses can be taken from a variety of departments to fulfill this minor including history, literature, debate and argument, psychology, and business.

Philosophy

This minor provides the opportunity for students to explore the philosophical and theoretical foundations of a wide range of disciplines.  Students examine ethical decision-making, the nature of human thought processes, the creation of knowledge, and the use of logic. The minor provides courses that may be applied to all disciplines, but which particularly complement studies in pre-law, political science, communications, business, English, fine arts, sociology, and psychology. Students can also join the active Philosophy Club on campus.
