Citation Styles Explained

The APA (American Psychological Association) citation style is the accepted style within the social sciences.
MLA (Modern Language Association) is used for documenting resources in the study of languages and literature. The AMA (American Medical Association) style is used by those in medical-related fields. There are other citation styles that you may be required to use, depending on your field of study. Your instructor should make it clear which style you are to use.

Your Library has many citation style guides available for your use--ask a librarian for help in finding them. The Writing Center, located in the IU Kokomo Library, also provides personal citation and bibliography help.

In addition, you can access many style guides online. A good starting place to find such online resources is the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL).
