Accounting
The Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in accounting prepares students to work in auditing, corporate accounting and management services, governmental and nonprofit organizations, and taxation. In addition, it equips prospective business executives with tools for analysis, prediction, decision-making, and control. (See the Bachelor of Science in Business for more information about the degree.)
Students who have already earned their bachelor's degrees can pursue the Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Accounting. After completing the program, students are prepared to take the Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) examination.
Careers
The accounting curriculum prepares students for positions as accountants, auditors, controllers, income tax accountants, financial statement analysts, cost accountants, budget officers, and governmental or institutional accountants. It also provides an excellent background for students considering graduate work in business administration or law.
