Coding Technology
The Coding Technology Certificate is an 18 credit hour program that prepares students to become qualified coders in the health care field. New regulations that govern the payment of health services claims issued by the government, as well as policies of third-party agencies, have created a sharp growth in the demand for coders. This field requires specialized training in areas related to insurance and health care in general. Students earning the Coding Technology Certificate develop an understanding of medical terminology and the disease process as well as coding principles and guidelines.
