Criminal Justice
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree provides a broad general education as well as specialized training in the criminal justice system. Students in this major at Indiana University Kokomo also learn about public management, including policy analysis, budgeting, and public affairs, so they are prepared for management positions in the future. They participate in internship experiences in the criminal justice field, working in places such as the Kokomo Police Department, a local judge's office, a prosecutor's office, and a county probation department.
Careers
The programs in criminal justice prepare students for a broad range of careers, both inside and outside the justice arena. Graduates in criminal justice hold key positions in law enforcement in north central Indiana, working at police departments, correctional facilities, and parole and probation departments. The bachelor's degree is excellent preparation for graduate study in criminal justice, public affairs, or law.
