Homeland Security/Emergency Management
The Certificate in Homeland Security/Emergency Management is a 15 credit hour undergraduate program administered by the Division of Continuing Studies. Students take courses in homeland security and emergency management topics that focus on preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Specifically, students assess the impact of recent public policy initiatives on combating domestic and international terrorism and analyze the response of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to recent natural disasters. The certificate program is a direct response to the state of Indiana’s identified need for higher education programming in the area of homeland security/emergency management. Students who enroll can complete the certificate requirements in the IU Kokomo ACCELerated Evening College.
