Liberal Studies

The Master of Liberal Studies (M.L.S.) provides students with the opportunity to take an individualized program of graduate courses and interdisciplinary core seminars in a variety of disciplines in the arts and sciences. Students identify and explore significant patterns and connections that exist among the diverse disciplines that define current knowledge. This program attracts students who want an organized, challenging program of study for personal self-fulfillment. The curriculum includes carrying out independent work, including the design and execution of projects. The faculty who teach in the M.L.S. program are all members of the Indiana University Graduate School Faculty. Most of them have published their work in a variety of journals.

Careers

The Master of Liberal Studies degree enables students who have an undergraduate degree to broaden their knowledge and skills at the graduate level and to enhance their careers with a graduate credential.
