Radiography
The two-year Associate of Science in Radiography degree prepares students for entry-level positions as radiographers in the health care field. Radiographers perform X-ray examinations of patients and assist in fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic procedures. The Radiography Program at IU Kokomo is highly selective, and students must meet physical as well as academic requirements. Students take general education courses and classroom and clinical training in radiographic techniques. A student who earns the Associate of Science in Radiography degree is eligible to take the certification examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to become certified as a Registered Radiographer.
Careers
Graduates of the program are trained to provide diagnostic X-ray techniques in a health care setting. Students take their clinical training in numerous hospitals and other health care settings in north central Indiana, giving future employers a chance to get to know the students and students an opportunity to consider employment opportunities in the area.
