Minda Douglas Artwork
Artist Statement
My work addresses an interest in the cycles of natural processes. I am fascinated with the how life is both fragile and resilient. I use natural and man-made forms as symbols of death, life, time, and energy. I explore how the juxtaposition or repetition of these symbols can add levels of meaning to the work.

Detail of Death of a Cornstalk, Graphite on Paper
|
I try to find objects that could be used to represent life or death, and then I force them together in unusual ways. |
