January 15, 2004

- Bever demonstrated new features of IU Kokomo Library website.
- Bradley reported on activities of the ADP Project Committee. The group is currently in a "brain-storming" state of development of ideas about how to encourage increased civic engagement through those areas of co-curriculum (student life), curriculum, and campus culture.
- The Academic Council suggested various avenues of curriculum vicarious learning opportunities
- Citizen of the future theme for freshman courses
- Explore impact of internet on political process
- Green announced that Strikwerda plans to do an inventory of current campus involvement in political processes sometime this semester.
- Bradley requested that anyone with additional comments or questions send him an e-mail.
- Green opened a discussion of the creation of a Graduate Program Committee. Everyone agreed that the Graduate Program Committee should be a Faculty Senate Committee and that the membership should be restricted to faculty with membership as graduate faculty or faculty who teach in the graduate programs. Vice Chancellor Green will prepare a draft proposal for consideration by the Council.
- Future agenda items: Budget, strategic plan, other issues submitted to Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs' office. Please reflect on issues that each of you would like to discuss and send them to the Office of Academic Affairs.
