Academic Council Minutes

September 2, 2004

Present: Haffley, Green, Cass, L. Henry, Sciame-Giesecke, Pati, Kintzele, Roales, Sehr, Aniskiewicz, Sadler, Hakes, Stachacz, Calhoon

  1. Announcements: All adjunct faculty must have ADS accounts. HR will send EMPL ID's to secretaries so new adjuncts can be told their EMPL ID for the purpose of securing their ADS accounts.

    2. – Only the instructor of record (faculty listed in SIS) will have access to OnCourse.

  2. Mission Differentiation: President expects campuses to look at research in light of the campus mission. We will coordinate strategic planning and mission statement.

    3. – The University will develop a set of common principles for general education. The first draft will be developed soon and shared with each campus for their review and comments. Regional campus should have serving regional needs as a prime focus.

  3. Goals for Academic Council: Discussion of how to increase six-year graduation rate to 30% of starting full-time freshmen; discussion of currently available data to project direction for development of campus.
