  1. Announcements: All tenured and tenure-track faculty are now automatically Graduate School faculty. The deans should submit a list of all qualified faculty in their units to Kathy Smith in the Graduate School. This list will need to be updated each year.
  2. – The University is planning a series of activities around Life Sciences week, January 22-29. Everyone should submit ideas for news stories within the next few weeks to Damler.

  3. Stachacz distributed copies of surveys for faculty and students to gain information on improvements for the Information Commons in the Library. Please encourage faculty and students to respond to the on-line surveys.
  4. Discussion of possible themes for the Mission differentiation produced several suggestions: Encourage the opportunity for IU Kokomo to develop the strategic plans for the future of our campus; maintain a broad definition of research. Nursing indicated that the future might include increasing autonomy of local nursing programs on the regional campuses. Vice Chancellor Green noted that IU Kokomo does not plan to pursue any additional associate degree programs.
  5. It was agreed that a goal of increasing the graduate rate of new full-time students to a rate of 30% might be feasible as well as desirable.
