- Development of General Education Principles - All of the campuses will start with the IUPUI Principles of Undergraduate Learning as a starting document. Each campus will modify and develop details under each of the general principles.
- Review of retention strategies - Suggested that a biannual review of retention strategies and results be conducted by a joint meeting of the Administrative Cabinet and the Academic Council.
- URSI applications for summer 2005 are due to the departments by December 1. Deans and chairs should prioritize the grants and write recommendations.
- There is a Graduate Scholarship Program from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation to which our outstanding students could apply. Any unit that has outstanding students who plan to apply to graduate school should be encouraged to apply.
- Final grades can be uploaded from the Oncourse grade book to SIS. Faculty must have their grades posted before 9:00pm on the Sunday before the grades are due on Monday. If they post their grades on Monday morning, they will not be updated to SIS until Tuesday.
- Reserve January 24 & 25 for the presence of a retired congressman and congresswoman who will be available to the faculty and students. They will make presentations in Kresege or KC230. Information will be sent to all faculty.
- Calhoon reported on NSSE data. We need to increase the student response rate. Some suggestions included: Set day for responding via the computer form and provide free food and drinks. Also possibly provide a raffle of some value to the students. There will be further discussion of the data and in particular, the two areas where we appear to be the weakest.
The agenda next month will include reports on CTE funded activities. Please prepare a handout of the activities in your units.
