If you are currently a high school student, you can begin to explore the resources of IU Kokomo in
several ways:

in high school.

Take College Classes While You're Still in High School
If you are interested in taking college courses while
you are pursuing your high school diploma, you can apply for the
Collegiate Credit for High School Students (CCHSS) program. Talk to
your high school guidance counselor to find out how university
courses fit into your high school schedule and college planning.
This program is designed for admission-eligible, mature high school
juniors and seniors who demonstrate preparation for college-level
course work. If you are interested in CCHSS you must:
- Submit the
Application for Admission
(PDF) as a Special High School Applicant
- Obtain the endorsement of your high school counselor
- Provide an official high school transcript
- Include your PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores

Application forms may also be obtained from the IU Kokomo Office of Admissions. CCHSS students are not eligible for federal, state, or university financial aid.
How to Become a Undergraduate Student at IU Kokomo
IU Kokomo offers you the chance to earn an Indiana University degree close to home, and it’s easy to apply. You can apply online or by mail. You’ll need to submit the following:
- A completed
Application for Admission as a First Year
Applicant
- An official high school transcript (transcript
must be received in a sealed envelope from the high
school)
- Your SAT or ACT scores (If you have been out of school three years or more, SAT/ACT scores are not required.)
- $30 non-refundable application fee. The
application fee is waived for Twenty-First Century
Scholars and for economic hardship with verification
from the high school guidance office.
- If you earned college credit while in high
school, submit an official transcript from each
college or university. (This step is not necessary
if your earned IU college credit)

October, November, December, January, and February
Sit down with your parents to talk about how much college costs, and how you're going to finance your education. Fill out
and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
on the Web. The FAFSA needs to be received by the March 10th
Priority Application Receipt Deadline for maximum
consideration for financial aid and scholarships.
Complete and submit your
application for admission online or you can print
out the
Application for Admission.

March, April, and May
Take placement exams and schedule your orientation appointment.
Remember to submit the
FAFSA no later
than the March 10th Priority Application Receipt
Deadline.
If you are admitted and have submitted the FAFSA, you can expect
to receive your Financial Aid Notification in early April.
May, June, July, and August
Attend New Student Orientation. Set up your student
e-mail account, get your student ID card, buy your
books, and check your
OneStart
account for your bursar bill for the Fall semester to pay your tuition and fees.
August
Begin classes.
