Requirements to Enroll to Pursue a Degree
- Students must have graduated from an Indiana high school or comparable out-of-state institution or have taken the GED. GED test takers may apply for unconditional admission with a score of at least 62.
- Students should rank in the upper half of their high school class.
- SAT or ACT scores must meet the national average of other test takers. Students who have been out of high school for three or more years are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores.

- Students must submit an Application for Admission with $30 application fee.
- High school guidance counselors need to complete a Supplemental Academic Information Form and return it to the Admissions Office
Taking Classes at IU Kokomo While You Are a Junior or Senior in High School
If you are interested in taking college courses while remaining in high school, you can apply for the Collegiate Credit for High School Students (CCHSS) program. Talk to your high school guidance counselor to find out how university courses fit into your high school schedule and college planning. This program is designed for admission-eligible, mature high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate preparation for college-level course work. If you are interested in CCHSS you must

Adult Students

Transfer Students
- If you have fewer than 12 transferable credits, you are required to meet the admission standards of a high school or adult student.
- You’ll need to submit official college or university transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
- Students must have average or above-average achievement at their previous college (at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale).

Students dismissed the last semester at their previous college or who are not in good standing are required to submit a Petition for Admission. Please contact us for specific information.
Graduate Students
Graduate students are admitted directly into their chosen academic division. Contact the graduate program of interest for admission requirements and procedures.
Guest Students
A guest student is any student enrolled in another college or university who wishes to take credit courses at IU Kokomo with the intention of transferring those credits back to the home institution.
- Students will need to submit a copy of their college or university transcript or most recent grade report indicating good academic standing.
- Students must have average or above-average achievement at the home institution (at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) .
- Students between their senior year in high school and their freshman year in college must submit a letter of acceptance from their home institution.
- Students intending to enroll in English, mathematics, or reading must show evidence of required prerequisites or complete IU Kokomo's placement examinations.
- Student must submit the Nondegree Application for Admission (PDF).

Nondegree Students
Applicants who are over 21 years old and who have earned a high school diploma or GED can apply as nondegree students and remain as such for up to 18 credit hours of course work. To apply as a nondegree student, please submit the Nondegree Application for Admission and a copy of your high school or college transcript(s) and/or GED score.
