Microsoft Office 2007 Migration Information

The Information Technology Department has begun the deployment of Microsoft Office Enterprise Edition 2007 (Please see the Deployment Plan for details). The user interface in Office 2007 is significantly different from that of Office 2003. (Click here to play a video that demonstrates the changes.) The user interface changes are designed to make working with the Office 2007 programs easier, faster, and more efficient.

2 Ways to Upgrade

When considering the campus-wide conversion to Microsoft Office 2007, we realize that there is no ‘one size fits all’ plan. To provide as much flexibility as possible, we have identified two ways to accommodate your needs while deploying this important software upgrade:

Option 1 - Remote Installation Assistance (available on demand)

1. Perform a full reboot of your system.

2. Follow the remote installation support instructions on this website.

3. Helpdesk provides full installation support on your system using remote technologies.

4. After the install, fill out the Office 2007 Installation Completion Form online.

Option 2 - (recommended): Self-Service Installation (available between May 21-June 29, 2007.)

1. Perform a full reboot of your system.

2. Follow the self-service upgrade instructions located on this website.

3. After the install, fill out the Office 2007 Installation Completion Form online.

Training and Documentation

To help you get comfortable and productive with the Office 2007 programs, we've put together a selection of product guides and intereactive resources on this site. Many more resources are available at Microsoft Office Online. The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment is offering Training Workshops and Open Lab sessions to get you familiar with the new Microsoft Office System.
