Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (IT) provides many technical resources for IU Kokomo's academic and intellectual endeavors. The department is committed to running a high-tech campus and providing quality and timely services to facilitate and improve the learning and working environment at IU Kokomo. Functions performed by IT include desktop support, network administration, student computer support, telecommunications, audio-visual services, distance learning, and Web management. Some of the services and resources provided by IT include:

  • Local Area Network
  • E-mail Services
  • Computer Classrooms and Student Labs
  • Audio Visual Resources
  • Technical Support and Helpdesk
  • Telephone and Voice Mail Services

The vision of the department is to have a smoothly running, high-tech campus. The mission is to provide quality service and leadership in emerging technologies to enhance the teaching and learning, scholarship, and service mission of the campus.

 

Information Technology, including the Office of the Vice Chancellor for IT, consists of the following operating units:

  • Computer Services (CSER)
  • Student Computing Services (SCS)
  • Audio Visual (A/V)
  • Telecommunications
  • Web Services
  • Print Management

It also keeps a very close working relationship with Instructional Technology and the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, and receives input from an IT Advisory Committee.
