Clearing Cache and Cookies in Oncourse & OneStart
In the Oncourse discussion forums sometimes the students can’t see items that have been posted, or in OneStart if you are having problems logging in. These problems are often due to cookies that need to be cleared or cache problems.
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer:
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- In the Temporary Internet Files panel, click the Delete Files button.
- Then, click on the Delete Cookies button.
- Click on the Settings button.
- Select "Every visit to the page" then click OK.
- In the History panel, click the Clear History button.
- Click OK, then close your browser.
If you use Netscape:
- From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
- Under Category, click on Advanced, then click on Cache.
- Click the Clear Memory Cache button, then click OK.
- Click the Clear Disk Cache button, then click OK.
- Next, select "Every time I view the page". Click OK.
- Select Privacy and Security, then click on Cookies.
- Click on the Manage Stored Cookies button.
- Click on Remove All Cookies then click OK.
- Click OK again, then close your browser.
If you use Firefox
- From the Tools menu, select Options
- Select the privacy icon on the left of the pop-up window box.
- In the bottom right of this box, select the Clear All button.
- An information box appears explaining that all the information will be deleted.
- Select Clear All Information button.
- Click OK and close your browser.
