EDUCATION STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (EdSAC) for Fall Semester 2007

The Education Student Advisory Council (EdSAC) is a recognized student organization. It is funded through Student Activities.  The budget is submitted and approved via Student Government. Persons interested in elementary and/or early childhood education are encouraged to participate.

Mission

1.  Provide a forum for enhanced educational experience and knowledge through community involvement, seminars, and workshops

2.  Source of student feedback to the faculty of the Division of Education

3.  Serve as active members of IU Kokomo's Student Body

Community Service Scheduled for Fall Semester 2007

WALK and TALK KOKOMO: September 22, 2007

On Saturday, September 22, the IU Kokomo Division of Education and the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) will sponsor “Walk and Talk Kokomo.” From Noon.–4 p.m., education students under the direction of Dr. Shirley Aamidor, Dr. Amber Reed, and Professor Welsh will be stationed at more than 30 Kokomo businesses and parks. They will offer parents activity sheets suggesting fun, interactive ideas by which everyday activities can teach young children about numbers, colors, and words. Participants will receive educational materials for children and may sign up to receive the Early Childhood Education Center newsletter. The activity is free.
