Summary of Officers, Events, and Activities for Spring Semester 2007

                             EDUCATION STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Education Student Advisory Council (EdSAC) is a recognized student organization. It is funded through Student Activities.  The budget is submitted and approved via Student Government. Persons interested in elementary and/or early childhood education are encouraged to participate.

Mission

1.  Provide a forum for enhanced educational experience and knowledge through community involvement, seminars, and workshops

2.  Source of student feedback to the faculty of the Division of Education

3.  Serve as active members of IU Kokomo's Student Body

March 2, 2007 PRAXIS II Preparation Workshop for K-6 Students 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Friday Presentation of test-taking strategies and suggestions to prepare CuLab
  for the required PRAXIS II exams.  
     
March 5, 2007 Disability Awareness 1:00 p.m.
Monday Ally Matt, graduate of Purdue and working on her doctorate in psychology, has been blind since birth.  She shared her experiences, including her experiences with schools. KO 150
     
March 10, 2007 PROJECT WET 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost is $15.00. If you would like to register, please email your name, address and phone number. To hold your spot in the workshop, please send your check to: NREC, ATTN: Project WET, 5785 Glenn Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46216. The check should be made out to IDNR-Project WET. You will also need to bring a lunch that day or there is a cafeteria nearby where food can be purchased but the lunch hour is relatively short. Once you are registered, we will send out a confirmation letter about a week prior to the workshop.

Community Service Scheduled for Spring Semester 2007

Spring Semester Afgnanistan Project Collection Point: CuLab
  EdSAC joins with SIFE to collect supplies for children in Afghanistan, whose schools have been closed and whose teachers killed by the Taliban.  Complete listing of supplies needed in the CuLab.
