PI LAMBDA THETA GAMMA GAMMA CHAPTER
Pi Lambda Theta is an international honor society and professional association for men and women in the field of education. Gamma Gamma Chapter, associated with Indiana University Kokomo Division of Education, selects candidates for membership based upon high academic standing, interest in education, and promise of growth and service to the profession. Local chapter members include IU Kokomo faculty/staff, local school administrators/teachers, librarians, staff of social service agencies, and pre-service teachers. Initiation ceremonies are held each May and September.

Description of Gamma Gamma:
Gamma Gamma has provided professional conferences and programs for over twenty years for students, area teachers, and administrators. On an individual basis, members of Gamma Gamma serve as mentors to students and beginning teachers. In addition, they serve at the regional and international levels by accepting officer positions and participating on committees. Gamma Gamma President, Elizabeth Douglass, was installed in July 2007 as the International President and chairs the International Board of Directors.

| Award the Carol Cannon Distinguished Pi Lambda Thetan Award in Recognition of Outstanding |

| Contributions to Great Lakes Region II and to the Profession. Carol was a veteran Thetan and |
|
|
| active member at both the chapter and region levels. As an additional honor, Carol was named |
|
|
| the first recipient. Judy accepted the award posthumously. |
