Indiana State Agency Statistics and Maps Available on the Internet

Statistics on Indiana's economy, population and workforce from the Indiana Business Research Center and Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Includes data on education, Census 2000, property taxes, employment by industry, county profiles and maps. Major funding provided by the Indiana Dept. of Commerce.

Governor's Reports - State government and agency reports from the Governor's Office.

State Rankings from the Statistical Abstract of the United States - Ranks states by population, race, unemployment, infant mortality, education level, federal aid, and income numbers.

Voter Registration and Turnout - Voter registration and participation statistics by county from the Secretary of State. Some data given from as far back as 1948.

Agriculture   

Census of Agriculture - Census conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture that gives statistics for 1987, 1992, and 1997 by county. Data can be retrieved by category or keyword and includes information such as market value, production cost, crop yield and agricultural chemicals used.

Crop weather - Indiana Agricultural Statistics Service reports on state-wide average weather conditions, the number of days crop yield is behind or ahead of the average, crop conditions and farm activities. Information available on all U.S. states.

Indiana State Fact Sheet  - USDA Economic Research Service provides economic information on Indiana's agricultural industry.

Crime

Campus Crime Statistics - Search by college type or location. Gives number of students, security contact information and number of offenses on campus listed by type, including arrests statistics and hate crimes.
Child Abuse Statistics, Indiana - Total number of children reported as victims of abuse or neglect and the number of reports substantiated from 1996 onwards by County. Data is from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
Hate Crime Statistics - Data regarding incidents, offenses, victims, and offenders in reported crimes that were motivated in whole or in part by a bias against the victim's perceived race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability from 1995 onwards.
Indiana Crime Rates 1960-1998 - by county and by type of crime.
Indiana Death Row Statistics - Statistics on those sentence to death including number sentenced by year, race, gender, and age. Also statistics on victims by race, age, gender and relationship to the convicted. Includes statistics by county, method of murder, most active trial judge and county. Includes links to current death row inmates, executions since 1900, and victim and legal resources.
Indianapolis-Marion County Law Enforcement Incident Viewer - GIS interface to law enforcement incident report data from serious crimes to "information only" reports based on preliminary reports.

Indiana Economy at a Glance -Statistics on the total workforce, number of people employed and unemployed, layoffs, and type of employment by industry for Indiana. Updated monthly, data for current year available. U.s. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
 
Annual Personal Income - Information on personal income, total income, and types of income for Indiana counties beginning from 1968.
