KOKOMO, Ind.—All eight candidates for their party’s nomination for mayor of Kokomo are scheduled to appear in the Indiana University Kokomo Candidate Forum Wednesday, April 23. The public is invited to attend the 7 p.m. forum in Room 130 of the Kelley Student Center. Democrats Susan Alexander, Andy Castner and Jean Lushin, along with Republicans Lynne Bolinger, Pat Donoghue, Thomas Hamilton, Gary McKay and Matt McKillip, will state their qualifications and positions on issues facing the City of Kokomo. After all have spoken, the candidates will respond to questions submitted by the audience. The forum will adjourn no later than 9 p.m. Don Wilson, publisher of the Kokomo Perspective, will moderate the forum. The Perspective is cosponsor of the Candidate Forum along with the IU Kokomo Political Science Department. Professor Emeritus Allen Maxwell, Ph.D., will coordinate the evening.
The two final nominees for mayor will be determined in a May 5 primary, along with other municipal candidates. There are no state or national offices up for election this year, Maxwell noted. Election Day is November 4.
