Bring Mom to free Mother’s day concert

KOKOMO, Ind.—Show Mom that you love her with the gift of music. Bring her to a free concert on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, at 2 p.m. in Havens Auditorium on the Indiana University Kokomo campus. The new IU Kokomo Howard County Community Band will debut, performing along with the IUK Singers and the IU Kokomo North Central Handbell Choir. Band selections will include “Fanfare and Flourishes,” “Purple Pageant” and a Disney® piece. A tribute to the heroes of September 11, 2001, is among the five handbell works planned for the program. The IUK Singers will perform several songs, including “The Prayer,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Rose Touched by the Sun’s Warm Rays.”
The Singers will join the band in “A Salute to George M. Cohen,” and all three ensembles will unite in the concert finale, “The Light Eternal.”
