‘Rock Back Night’ with reggae and blues on April 14

KOKOMO, Ind.—Enjoy the reggae, blues, and funk sound of Pie Boys Flat, as well as local musicians, Saturday, April 14, at Indiana University Kokomo. The doors of Kresge Auditorium open at 5:30 p.m. for the “Rock Back the Night” concert, benefitting Family Service Association (FSA) of Howard County. The Student Union Board, organizers of the concert, will request a minimum donation of $5 per person. Call (765) 4559206 for information.

Headliners Pie Boys Flat have been popular in the New York City music scene since 2003. Members Patrick Hambrick (guitar), Fitz Harris (percussion), and Jason Liles (bass) lace their performances with soaring three-part harmonies. The “Rock Back the Night” concert leads up to the FSA’s Angel Walk, hosted by IU Kokomo on Tuesday, April 24. Volunteer walking teams collect sponsorship donations and march in the one-mile Angel Walk, starting and ending at the campus. Proceeds benefit FSA’s domestic violence programs. Walking teams can register by contacting Kathryn Widman at (765) 455-9491.

The campus’s Take Back the Night rally in Alumni Hall precedes and follows the walk. The rally offers speakers, student posters, and artwork bringing public attention to issues of domestic and relationship violence, as well as live music and refreshments. IU Kokomo’s American Democracy Project is sponsoring Take Back the Night.
