Tonight: Two Political Professionals Speak, Followed by Democrat Debate

An Indiana University Kokomo master’s class on rhetoric and speech will feature a talk by two political professionals from the Indiana campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 7 p.m. on the IU Kokomo Campus in the Kelley Student Center’s Kresge Auditorium. Assistant Professor of Communication Chris Darr, Ph.D., the instructor of the class, will be sponsoring the event which will feature two political professionals who will discuss what they do for their respective campaigns and how they found their careers. Following questions from the audience, there will be a student debate between IU Kokomo student body president Chad Andrews promoting the policies of Senator Hillary Clinton, while student body vice president David Sims, will tout the policies of Senator Barack Obama.
Darr says that he hopes that students and other members of the public attending Monday’s event will learn how campaigns are run and how campaign messages are formed and are communicated among the public.
