Division of Education seeks nominees for two awards

KOKOMO, Ind. – The Indiana University Kokomo Division of Education is accepting nominations for its 2009 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service awards.

The Distinguished Alumni Award goes to an outstanding alumnus/a who has made significant contributions to the teaching profession, IU Kokomo, and to their community. Any alumnus/a who has completed an initial teacher education program at IU Kokomo is eligible to receive this award.

Selection criteria include: professional accomplishments, community service, distinguished service to the Division of Education, and commitment to teacher education.

The Distinguished Service Award goes to an outstanding alumnus/a or friend who has made a significant contribution to the Division of Education. Service should be sustained, substantive, and directly related to any aspect of the division’s various teacher education programs.

Selection criteria include: distinguished service to the Division of Education and commitment to teacher education.

Nominations for these awards must include the application letter indentifying which award is being nominated, a nomination letter that identifies evidence of professional accomplishments, community service, distinguished service to the Division of Education, commitment to teacher education, and a resume.
