IU Kokomo Faculty Member Receives 2009 FACET Award

April 6, 2009

KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana University Kokomo’s Nancy Greenwood, associate professor of sociology, has been selected to receive the 2009 Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching (FACET), joining 16 other IU faculty across the state with this honor.

FACET awards are presented to IU faculty members who have demonstrated their exceptional commitment to teaching and learning through areas of self-evaluation, course preparation, research, instructional skills, and student impact. Greenwood will be recognized at the 21st Annual FACET Retreat May 15-17.

This award, an IU Presidential initiative, is designed both to recognize and enhance outstanding teaching throughout the IU system and to promote continued development of teaching excellence among colleagues at IU and beyond. In recent years, FACET’s efforts have expanded both at the campus level and statewide. FACET activities include the Leadership Institute, Associate Faculty and Lecturers Conference, and Future Faculty Teaching Fellows Conference in partnership with IU Graduate School.

For more information about FACET, please see FACET Web at www.facet.iupui.edu, or e-mail facet@iupui.edu.
