Regional Art Exhibition opens Sunday at IU Kokomo Gallery

KOKOMO, Ind.—The third biennial Regional Juried Art Exhibition opens at the IU Kokomo Art Gallery on Sunday, August 17. The public is welcome to attend the opening reception and awards presentation from 2–4 p.m. Cash awards for the first-place work and five merit award winners will be presented. Continuing through September 18, the exhibition displays 70 works of art created by residents of north central Indiana. Several Kokomo artists are represented in the show, as well as artists from Arcadia, Battle Ground, Beech Grove, Brownsburg, Carmel, Clayton, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Greenfield, Hartford City, Indianapolis, Kendallville, Lafayette, Marion, Muncie, Noblesville, Peru, Russiaville, Selma, Templeton, Tipton and West Lafayette. The Gallery received more than 250 entries for the 2003 exhibition, far exceeding the 132 art entries received for the 2001 exhibition.
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is located in the Kelley Student Center. All Gallery exhibitions and activities are free and open to the public.
