Douglas said that her favorite subject to teach is foundation drawing, a course where she has witnessed “amazing transformations” in her students. “They begin to ‘see’ what they are drawing for the first time; it is like a light bulb goes off in their creative minds. I am always trilled to be part of that process.”

Douglas received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University in 1996.

Specializing in fine art printmaking, Douglas has presented seven solo exhibitions of her work and participated in close to 30 group exhibitions in several states She recently completed a solo exhibition at the Harrison Center for the Arts in Indianapolis.
