Nowak named to IUAA search committee
August 31, 2006
KOKOMO, Ind.—Indiana University Kokomo Vice Chancellor for External Relations Paul F. Nowak has been appointed to a committee that will seek a replacement for IU Alumni Association (IUAA) President and Chief Executive Director Ken Beckley. Beckley will retire at the end of January 2007 after five years of heading the IUAA.
President Adam W. Herbert announced formation of the 13-member search committee on August 29. The committee will begin its work immediately, and intends to present recommendations to Herbert by mid-November.
“I am honored that President Herbert asked me to serve on this important committee,” Nowak said. “As an alumnus of Indiana University and a current member of the IUAA Executive Council, it is a privilege to serve in this capacity. Ken Beckley’s leadership has advanced the alumni association in many ways and his engagement of the regional campuses has been an important step in that process. As more alumni come from campuses other than Bloomington, that continued engagement will be critical.”
Nowak is a 1977 graduate of the IU Kelley School of Business. He served as president of the IUAA St. Joseph (Ind.) County Chapter from 1997–2002. Nowak is the only member of the search committee affiliated with a regional campus of Indiana University.
