KOKOMO, Ind.—Drawings, paintings, prints and sculpture by Kokomo resident Janel Rawls will be on display in the Humanities Hallway of Indiana University Kokomo August 30–September 5. A closing reception will be held 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5. The Humanities Hallway is located in the Main Building, next to Havens Auditorium.

Rawls created her one-woman show, Pinned to the Wall, as a requirement of her creative arts minor. Lecturer in Fine Arts Minda Douglas mentored Rawls in the minor program. “Janel was always ready to create,” Douglas said of her student. “As soon as the assignments or techniques were demonstrated, she went running with creative ideas and unique approaches. Her talent is evident in this diverse exhibit.”

Rawls completed coursework toward a Bachelor of General Studies in August.

The exhibit is open to the public during regular school hours. (Campus buildings will be closed on Labor Day, September 4.)
