Almquist, Roden and alums inducted into business honor society

KOKOMO, Ind.—Five recent graduates and one faculty member of the IU Kokomo School of Business were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma academic honor society on December 8. Retired President and CEO of Delco Electronics Corporation Donald Almquist of Noblesville was inducted as an honorary member. A member of the IU Kokomo Chancellor’s Advisory Board, Almquist was honored for his professional achievements in business and his service to the campus, particularly for his support for the Master of Business Administration degree program here. Associate Professor of Finance Dianne Roden, Ph.D., became a Beta Gamma Sigma key holder. Roden received the 2001 Claude Rich Excellence in Teaching Award and a 2002 IU Trustees’ Teaching Award. Described at the induction ceremony as “cream of the crop” students while at IU Kokomo, alumni inductees include Robin Helms Clark, M.B.A., of Kokomo; David Holt, M.B.A., of Logansport; Deb McGuire, M.B.A., of Monticello; Travis Hueston of Greentown; and Daniel Taylor of Princeton. Clark received her M.B.A. in December 2002; she works in manufacturing engineering for Delphi Delco Electronics Systems. The remaining inductees were all May 2003 IU graduates. Holt is CFO and part-owner of Nelson Acquisitions in Logansport. McGuire is employed in the finance and information technology division of Purdue Research Foundation in Lafayette. Hueston, who holds a B.S. in accounting, works for First National Bank in Kokomo. Taylor, who earned a B.S. in management/human resources, holds a management position with Road and Rail Services in Princeton. Beta Gamma Sigma recognizes academic achievement in higher education programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Beta Gamma Sigma has more than 370 chapters worldwide.
