KOKOMO, Ind.—Students of IU Kokomo’s Computer Basics I course can expand their skills with Computer Basics II, being offered by the Division of Continuing Studies. This intermediate-level course explores computer operating systems, sharing files among programs, basic shortcut operating functions and more.
Students can select from day and evening classes, offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 4–13 from 10 a.m.–noon and March 24–April 2 from 7:45–9:45 p.m. The class fee is $99; purchase of a textbook is required.

Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement

Conversational Spanish

XML Basics
This course covers how to use XML, apply SML technology to best advantage and design an XML schema and DTD. I t also offers a brief introduction to XSLT, SOAP and XHTML. This course does not require programming experience.

Ballroom Dancing
This class will offer a general overview of all the major ballroom and Latin dances, such as swing, salsa, tango, waltz, etc. Students will gain a basic knowledge of partner dancing and the ability to dance to almost any type of music. No partner is needed to take the class.

An Evening at the Observatory
Take a look at the stars and planets and look for meteors and comets with the telescope in Indiana University Kokomo’s own observatory. The evening includes a lecture on the solar system and a chart of constellations in the northern hemisphere. Families are encouraged to attend together. All ages are welcome; an adult must accompany minor children. The $40 registration fee covers up to four family members. This two-hour course is limited to 12 participants.
