KOKOMO, Ind.—The “Making IT (Information Technology) Happen” fair will be held Thursday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. IU Kokomo’s IT staff will be available to meet with faculty, staff, and students during the fair and demonstrate innovations in information technology used on campus. Student can have ADS account passwords reset and get IT staff help in configuring wireless network cards for laptop computers. Visitors can enjoy free refreshments, plus giveaways courtesy of such IU technology business partners as Cingular, Dell, Gateway, HP and Verizon. Additional sponsors include Apple, Careers Insite, Macromedia, Microsoft and University Information Technology Services (UITS). The theme of this year’s fair is “Ontrack with Oncourse.” Through Oncourse, IU students can participate in classes from a home or workplace computer, any Student Technology Center on campus or anywhere else that has Web access. Faculty use Oncourse to post the class syllabus and schedule, distribute and accept assignments, set up chat rooms for class discussion, distribute grades, conduct tests and surveys or link to information on the Web. For more information, contact event coordinators Lisa Schunk or Shirley Sellers at (765) 455-9315. To check out student technology resources at IU Kokomo, visit http://www.iuk.edu/technology.html.
