KOKOMO, Ind.—College-bound students can come to IU Kokomo on College Goal Sunday, February 8, to receive advice and assistance in applying for government scholarships and other financial support. Financial aid experts from Indiana colleges and universities will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. in Room 130 of the Kelley Student Center, to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students seeking federal and state grants, loans and scholarships must complete the FAFSA form and submit it to the federal processor by March 10. Students who submit a completed form on College Goal Sunday will be automatically entered in a drawing for one of three $300 educational prizes to be awarded statewide. A Spanish translator will be available at the IU Kokomo site. Call John Delaney at (765) 455-9216 for additional information. Students age 23 or younger should attend with a parent or guardian. They should bring their parents’ completed IRS 2003 1040 tax return, W-2 form, or other 2003 income and benefits information. Students who are 24 years or age or older, are married, or have dependents may attend alone and bring their own completed tax and income information. College Goal Sunday 2004 will take place at 34 sites in 29 Indiana communities. The program is sponsored by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association, in cooperation with the Indiana Career and Postsecondary Advancement Center, the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana and the Office of 21st Century Scholars. It is funded by the non-profit organizations Lumina Foundation for Education; Lilly Endowment, Inc.; and USA Funds. For more information on the statewide program, call (800) 992-2076 or visit www.CollegeGoalSunday.org.
