Adult and graduate students welcome to IU Kokomo open house and ice cream social

February 12, 2004

KOKOMO, Ind.—Adult and graduate students will have a special opportunity to consider programs at IU Kokomo on Sunday, March 7. An open house and ice cream social for prospective students and their families will run from 1–3 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center.

The event was purposely scheduled three days before the deadline for online submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), said coordinator Lori Collins of the Division of Continuing Studies. Students seeking federal and state educational grants, loans and scholarships must complete the FAFSA form and submit it to the federal processor by March 10. “At the open house, we can provide information that will help visitors fill out the FAFSA before the deadline,” Collins said.

Campus tours are scheduled at 1:30, 2 and 2:30 p.m. Admissions counselors will answer questions in a 1:30 p.m. presentation, followed by a 2 p.m. session on availability of financial aid. IU Kokomo’s Bookstore and Art Gallery will be open during the afternoon. Parking and admission are free.

IU Kokomo offers master’s degrees in business administration, liberal studies, nursing, and elementary and secondary education. The campus’ ACCELerated Evening College caters to busy lifestyles, offering one-class-per-week over an eight-week period. Instruction is presented 50 percent online and 50 percent in a classroom, offering flexibility for students interested in getting or finishing an associate or bachelor’s degree.
